Lucknow is the capital city of the state of Uttar Pradesh, India. It has a
population of over 2 million and it is the second largest urban centre in Uttar
Pradesh after Kanpur.
Lucknow is known as a city of culture and the huge mausoleums of the nawabs and
the ruins of the Residency, which stood witness to one of the most remarkable
episodes in the Indian Mutiny, in 1857, make it an attraction for tourists.
